Discovering Yourself with RIASEC and MBTI Workshop |
17 Sept 25 |
This engaging and reflective workshop is designed to help students and fresh graduates uncover their unique strengths, preferences, and potential career pathways using two renowned self-assessment tools: the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the RIASEC Holland Codes.
Participants will explore the four dimensions of MBTI to better understand how personality influences communication styles, decision-making approaches, and preferred environments. Through guided discussions and activities, they will learn how to leverage their strengths and manage blind spots to perform better in both academic and professional settings.
In the second half of the session, participants will be introduced to the six Holland Codes under the RIASEC framework, helping them identify interest areas that align with different industries and occupations. This deeper understanding of personality and interest orientation provides a practical foundation for making informed decisions about internships, education pathways, and long-term career goals.
Key Takeaways:
• Understand the core principles behind MBTI and RIASEC and their relevance to career planning.
• Identify their MBTI personality type and interpret its impact on their communication, collaboration, and decision-making style.
• Identify their top interest areas using the Holland Codes (RIASEC) and explore how these relate to potential fields of study and career pathways.
• Reflect on how their personality traits and interests interact to shape their career motivations.
• Develop greater self-awareness to guide future educational, professional, and personal choices.
• Group Sharing & Insights Circle: Small group activities for students to share key takeaways and hear diverse perspectives.
• Action Planning: Each participant writes a short personal statement or sets 2–3 career or development goals based on their insights.
