Boon Hwee is a General Partner and the Chairman of Altara. He is a distinguished corporate leader and entrepreneur. He currently sits on multiple boards in both the public and private sectors—serving as Chairman of Singapore Exchange Limited, the Securities Industry Council, Agilent Technologies Inc., Rippledot Capital Advisers Pte. Ltd., and Sunningdale Tech Ltd.; and as a board director of GIC Private Limited.

A proven visionary, Boon Hwee has previously served as Chairman of DBS Bank Ltd., Singapore Airlines Limited, Singapore Telecommunications Limited, the Nanyang Technological University Board of Trustees, Far East Orchard Limited, Yeo Hiap Seng Ltd., and AAC Technologies Holdings Inc. He was also a board member of Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited, the Economic Development Board (EDB) International Advisory Council, and the Singapore Economic Committee in 1985, which guided the country out of recession. Additionally, he served on the board of the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation, a non-profit organisation.

He advises complex corporate, commercial, and family transactions in a myriad of circumstances and has acquired a reputation as a maverick of legal creativity. He honed his skills over 25 years of deep experience in bespoke-objectives driven corporate transactions and restructuring, structured finance, cross-border asset migration, in the banking, insurance, oil & gas, MNCs, and private wealth sectors, and as counsel in tax and trust litigations.

Sim Ho is dual-qualified as a lawyer and chartered accountant: a barrister of England and Wales (Lincoln’s Inn, Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, Fellow Chartered Accountant (Singapore), and a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors, Accredited Adviser of the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals.

Siau Wen is an Intellectual Property specialist with more than 25 years of experience in contentious and non-contentious IP practice.

She manages the global trade mark, design and patent portfolios of foreign and local multinational clients from a wide range of industries. She also advises clients on general IP and regulatory matters as well as issues of gaming, product advertising, labelling, and branding strategy.

Siau Wen handles various facets of IP commercial transactions. They include due diligence; negotiations; and drafting and reviewing licensing, franchising, sale and transfer, confidentiality, distributorship, credit facility and consultancy agreements relating to IP rights.

Patrick is a registered Singapore patent agent with a technical background in electrical engineering and computer science. He moved to Singapore in August 2016 from Silicon Valley, California, where he previously worked as a California attorney-at-law and a USPTO registered patent attorney. His experience includes roles at patent law firms and in-house at National Semiconductor, Nichia Chemical, and Western Digital.

At Drew & Napier, Patrick primarily works on patent application drafting, patent office responses, freedom-to-operate reports, and patent litigation support.

Melanie is a registered Singapore patent agent with a strong technical background in life sciences. She has over a decade of experience in patent drafting, prosecution, and portfolio management, and has worked with research institutes, universities, and multinational corporations across a wide range of biotechnology fields, including cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, agriculture, food technology, biofuels, and sustainable innovations.

Melanie has a strong professional interest in strategic IP management, competitive analysis, and global portfolio development, and closely follows the evolution of patent laws in key jurisdictions including the U.S., Europe, China, and Japan.

With over 25 years of experience in intellectual property (IP), Christina Gee serves as Director of IP Management at Nanyang Technological University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NTU I&E). She leads a dedicated team in safeguarding and managing NTU's extensive IP assets, collaborating with closely with faculty and researchers to protect and facilitate the licensing of innovations to spin-offs, SMEs, and multi-national corporations.

Christina oversees the full lifecycle of IP management, from strategic protection and due diligence to IP contract negotiations. Prior to NTU I&E, Christina held similar positions in technology transfer at A*STAR and NUS. She also brings private practice experience from a leading boutique IP firm, where she specialised in patent agency work across the chemical, materials, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology sectors.
