Neurodiversity Unveiled: Understanding Hidden Learning Differences in Struggling Students

Many students labeled as "struggling" may actually have undiagnosed or subclinical neurodivergent traits that require different learning approaches. This workshop reveals how neuroscience is uncovering genuine learning style differences previously  dismissed by researchers. We'll explore how students with dyslexia develop compensatory strengths in visualization and memory, how some autistic learners acquire language through pattern recognition rather than social interaction, and how these differences manifest in brain connectivity patterns.

Participants will learn to recognize signs of neurodivergence in students who haven't been formally diagnosed, understand why traditional teaching methods may fail these learners, and discover evidence-based strategies that work with, rather than against, diverse neural wiring. Move beyond the "learning styles don't exist" dogma to embrace neuroscience-informed, inclusive teaching practices.
