About Dr Manish Gupta

Dr Manish Gupta is Senior Director at Google DeepMind, leading AI research across India and Japan. A renowned researcher and technology leader, Dr Gupta previously led VideoKen, the India research centers for Xerox and IBM, and played a pivotal role in the Blue Gene/L supercomputer project, which received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation from President Barack Obama in 2009. 
 
He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a Fellow of ACM and the Indian National Academy of Engineering. Dr Gupta’s contributions include 75 papers with 8,000+ citations, 19 US patents, and numerous technical awards, including two Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards at IBM.
