AI for Good Fireside Chat and Networking Session

 

Join us for a Fireside Chat on AI for Good, and a Networking Session presented as part of the Chua Thian Poh Pinnacle Prize at NTU. This session will explore how AI can be developed and applied responsibly with purpose and meaningfully with real-world impact.

 

Bringing together perspectives from leaders and practitioners working at the intersection of technology, innovation, and public impact, the conversation will consider how AI is being translated into impactful solutions and applications to solve humanity’s grand challenges.

 

Speaker 1: Mr Richard Goh, Head of AI and Strategic Initiatives at AWS Singapore
 

A seasoned AI and technology leader at AWS spearheading strategic initiatives for Singapore’s public sector, with a strong focus on driving AI adoption, innovation, and large-scale digital transformation across government and enterprise. Mr Richard Goh is a certified speaker on Amazon’s Culture of Innovation and a member of the AWS ASEAN AI acceleration team, supporting organisations in leveraging AI for impactful outcomes.

Prior to AWS, he spent six years at SkillsFuture Singapore, leading technical teams in cloud migration, system modernisation, and pioneering the use of AI, machine learning, and blockchain for fraud prevention, skills discovery, and process automation. With over 15 years of experience in management and technology consulting, he has supported MNCs, government agencies, and financial institutions in shaping and executing AI, automation, and digital transformation strategies.

 

Speaker 2: Dr Zhang Jiehuang, Lecturer and Programme Director of Master of Science in Enterprise AI (MSEAI) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

 

Dr Zhang is a Lecturer at the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS), Nanyang Technological University, specialising in ethical AI and AI governance. He teaches AI and Data Science at NTU, equipping students with both technical expertise and an understanding of responsible AI practices.

Prior to academia, he worked as a data scientist at DBS Bank, where he developed AI models to predict technology incidents and system outages using activity data, supporting operational resilience and innovation in the banking sector. With his expertise in ethical AI and AI governance, Dr Zhang brings valuable perspectives on how AI can be developed and deployed responsibly for societal good.
