An important key to developing effective interpersonal relationships in organizations is the ability to understand individual differences and the variations in how people respond to the same situation based on personal characteristics. When we are aware of various personality factors, we develop empathy and are hence more able to individualize the way we approach others.

The DiSC model is a personal profiling tool that individuals can use to increase understanding of themselves, and effectively adapt their behaviours with others, within a work team or other relationships. It can improve relationships by helping one to recognize the communication needs of others.

In this workshop, participants will complete a DiSC profile questionnaire and receive a profile report to increase their self-awareness. They will participate in engaging activities which are aimed at helping them appreciate the unique strengths and weaknesses of others. The following will be discussed:

•    What is the DiSC personality profiling model?
•    What are the four basic personality and communication styles?
•    Strengths and differences of each of the personality styles
•    Gaining insights into my own behavior and that of others
•    Understanding and appreciating the styles of others
