Abstract
In this workshop, participants will be introduced to a practical toolkit developed using the UNESCO and Advance HE Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) frameworks to guide the responsible use of Generative AI in sustainability education. The toolkit addresses the strengths and limitations of Generative AI, its environmental impact, and highlights key strategies for students, educators, and institutions. It includes a case study and links to additional resources. After an overview of the toolkit, participants will work in groups to analyze selected strategies using the Six Thinking Hats method, exploring different perspectives such as emotions, risks, and benefits. Insights will be documented on a shared Padlet, and the session will conclude with a collective reflection on how the toolkit can support ethical and impactful integration of Generative AI in ESD.
